In his song beginning with “jiva jago,” Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura gives us this important instruction by Lord Caitanya regarding the holy name and how to chant it:
“I have brought the medicine to eradicate the disease of illusion. Now beg for this hari-nama maha-mantra and take it.”
beg : ask (someone) earnestly or humbly for something.
