The verb, dawn, is beautiful and meaningful.
Dawn (as a verb): “Become evident to the mind; be perceived or understood”: the glorious truth about the Hare Krishna mantra was beginning to dawn on her.
Awakening to one’s spiritual life is like the dawning of the sun. The light appears so gradually at first that it’s hard to tell if anything is really happening.
And then . . .
“When, however, one is enlightened with the knowledge by which nescience is destroyed, then his knowledge reveals everything, as the sun lights up everything in the daytime.” (Bg. 5.16)
Be patient in your bhakti practice (especially japa) by remembering that the holy name, just like the sun, will dawn in your heart in due course of time.
“Desiring to bless all souls, the sweet name of Krishna has descended to the material world and now shines like the sun in the sky of the heart, destroying the darkness of ignorance.” (Bhaktivinoda Thakura)
