In the Bhagavad-gita, Krishna gives us this friendly advice:
“Because you are My very dear friend, I am speaking to you My supreme instruction, the most confidential knowledge of all. Hear this from Me, for it is for your benefit.” (18.64)
Although Krishna’s words may seem to be only for Arjuna, Srila Prabhupada clarifies that one may – and “should” – take it that Krishna’s instructions are meant for oneself:
“What Krishna is saying in this connection is the most essential part of knowledge, and it should be carried out not only by Arjuna but by all living entities.” (BG 18.64; purport)
One who takes Krishna’s open instructions to heart becomes intimately connected to Him in friendship.
In this way the path of bhakti is not only practical, but also very sweet.
