The word, benefactor, comes from Latin, bene facere, “do good to.”
In Srimad-bhagavatam, Lord Krsna is described as suhrt. Su, means “very, very good,” and hrt, means, “heart.” Suhrt, is the Lord in our heart who is our best friend, well wisher, and benefactor.
In Gita, Krsna tells us that He accompanies and directs the soul from within the heart: “To show them special mercy, I, dwelling in their hearts, destroy with the shining lamp of knowledge the darkness born of ignorance.” (Bg. 10.11)
In other words, wherever we go in the material world, our most powerful, well wishing friend, suhrt, is always with us!
Today, let us turn our attention to our best friend within our hearts and chant the maha-mantra with all sincerity, asking for His help.
