Early this morning I jumped up in delight upon hearing thunder overhead followed by the tapping of refreshing raindrops on my parched rooftop.
Amidst the severe California drought, this sudden delivery of precious water from the sky renewed my faith in lord Brahma’s statement that Krishna gives his special mercy to those who patiently wait for it, despite the many difficulties in their lives.
“My dear Lord, one who earnestly waits for You to bestow Your causeless mercy upon him, all the while patiently suffering the reactions of his past misdeeds and offering You respectful obeisances with his heart, words and body, is surely eligible for liberation, for it has become his rightful claim.” (Srimad-Bhagavatam 10.14.8)
