According to Krishna in the Bhagavad-Gita, the goal of one’s study should be to know and love Krishna. Without this aim, one’s studies will be forever unsatisfying.
One who reads the Bhagavad-Gita to understand Krishna, however, comes to see everything in its proper prospective and is inspired to engage in the blissful service of the Lord.
Whoever knows Me as the Supreme Personality of Godhead, without doubting, is the knower of everything. He therefore engages himself in full devotional service to Me, O son of Bharata.” (Bhagavad-Gita 15.19)
