With Sword in Hand

Govardhana

Intelligent bhakti yogis, knowing that Krishna and all His personal powers are present in His names, pastimes and instructions, organize their lives so that they can hear all these with attention.

Just by doing this, a devotee cuts through all his or her past karma and material desires, achieves steadiness in devotional service, and eventually tastes pure love for God.

“With sword in hand, intelligent men cut through the binding knots of reactionary work [karma] by remembering the Personality of Godhead. Therefore, who will not pay attention to His message?” (Srimad-bhagavatam 1.2.15)

Kartika month is an excellent opportunity to increase one’s hearing and chanting about Krishna.

Those who preach and distribute books during this month bless not only themselves with the transcendental vibration, but others as well. Such persons are doubly blessed.
