Distraction is the state of being dis-attracted.
Krishna means “the attractor.”
In the context of practicing bhakti yoga, a distraction is something that pulls one’s attention away from Krishna, the attractor.
Through the regular practice of japa, in which one brings one’s attention repeatedly back to the sound of Krishna’s name, one’s mind gradually becomes re-attracted to Krishna.
When one’s mind is attracted to Krishna one has attained the perfection of yoga and he becomes supremely happy.
“From wherever the mind wanders due to its flickering and unsteady nature, one must certainly withdraw it and bring it back under the control of the Self.” Bhagavad-gita 6.26
