The world is full of tastes. However, one experiences and appreciates various tastes only according to one’s capacity.

And the Gita says that we develop our taste for a certain kind of food, music, work, and so on, according to our association.

According to the bhakti scriptures, one who develops a taste for chanting Krishna’s divine names by associating with pure devotees, gets the best taste of all and attains the perfection of life.

Bhaktivinoda Thakura writes:

“Oh! When there is attachment to the holy name of Krishna, then very easily a living being becomes successful! Oh! Without affection for Krishna, life is simply useless!” (Doyal Nitai Chaitanya Bole; Bhaktivinoda Thakura)
