Mumbai traffic is fierce. From my room, I hear horns honking through the entire day and night, people rushing here and there in motorized steel carriages, looking for . . . What?
To the people of Mumbai and the rest of the world, the Vedas say: atatho brahma jijnasa: “Now that you’ve tasted everything in the universe (and it hasn’t satisfied you), turn your inquires toward finding the Supreme Lord.”
In other words, if all else fails, (and it will), turn to Krishna, the divine source of everything, the supreme controller and our very best friend.
In kali-yuga Lord Caitanya has come to broadcast to the honking, swerving masses, that the happiness and good fortune they frantically seek is fully available simply by chanting the maha-mantra:
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare
Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
“Those who are actually advanced in knowledge are able to appreciate the essential value of this age of Kali. Such enlightened persons worship Kali-yuga because in this fallen age all perfection of life can easily be achieved by the performance of sankirtana. (SB 11.5.36)
